Leaving the shores of Condrieu, the bewitching Viognier has become acclimatised in the southern Côtes du Rhône where it takes on more opulent finery. At La Janasse, Isabelle and Christophe Sabon have brilliantly reinterpreted this grape variety to produce a wine that is apricot-coloured in its perfumes but very balanced and textured, sublimated by a discreet, well-calibrated maturation.

Viticulture

This cuvée comes from a unique terroir of rolled pebbles on the edge of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, a short distance away on the La Crau plateau. The vines are cultivated without pesticides or insecticides and the manure is of natural origin. The soil is worked without weedkillers to maintain the aeration and suppleness of the soil. Massal selection. Yield of 30 hl/ha. Harvested in small crates.
