Etna rosso, San Lorenzo, T. Terre Nere - 2021

Of all Marco De Grazia's red wines, San Lorenzo is the finest and most Burgundian, with a pale ruby colour and mahogany hues. We love its penetrating nose of red and black berries, spices, rose and liquorice. The palate is structured but fine in tannin, full and complex, with a subtle tannic feel. First vintage: 2015. Production area: Contrada San Lorenzo, canton of Randazzo (Catania). Vineyard extension: 4 ha. Volcanic soil, quite deep and with a small presence of pebbles. Northern slope of Mount Etna, 700-750 metres altitude. Vines between 50 and 100 years old. Goblet cultivation. Harvested in the first decade of October.


Alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature (28-30°C). Spontaneous malolactic fermentation and ageing in French oak barrels. Bottled after 16-18 months of ageing in wood and 1 month in stainless steel tanks.

Duck pie with spices - Guinea fowl with morels - Pheasant with juniper.

Created in the early 2000s by the charismatic Marco De Grazia, Tenuta delle Terre Nere is located on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, in the most renowned area. The property consists of 34 hectares divided into 24 plots. Due to the volcanic origin, the soils differ greatly from one vineyard to another and also within each one, which increases the complexity of the wines as much as their personality.
