Feudo di Mezzo is the warmest terroir of the estate, a sort of Garden of Eden where vines grow alongside medlar, almond, peach, prickly pear and other noble species. This vineyard, which Marco de Grazia always harvests first, gives a ripe and sunny Etna rosso, with hints of fresh figs and tar, round in texture, full-bodied, fat and very typical of its origin!

Technique

Viticulture

Vines located in the municipality of Castiglione, in Contrada Feudo di Mezzo. Planted in 1927 and 1947. Terroir of volcanic ash, fine grained and deep soils. The vineyard is clinging to the north face of Mount Etna, at 650-700 metres above sea level.

Oenology

Maceration for 10 to 15 days followed by 18 months in oak barrels (25% new wood). Malolactic fermentation is done in barrel. Unfiltered.

Suggestions for accompaniment

Roast pigeon with spices - Grilled duck breast - Prime rib.

Tenuta delle Terre Nere

Created in the early 2000s by the charismatic Marco De Grazia, Tenuta delle Terre Nere is located on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, in the most renowned area. The property consists of 34 hectares divided into 24 plots. Due to the volcanic origin, the soils differ greatly from one vineyard to another and also within each one, which increases the complexity of the wines as much as their personality.
