This is an amazing terroir, apparently not very suitable for producing great wines (too gentle a slope, thin layer of Pyrenean gravel, outcrops of marl preventing deep rooting!) And yet the result is there! It was undoubtedly necessary to do a lot of drainage work to optimise the soil and subsoil. Time will tell if the planned extensions of the vineyard (on much deeper gravel) will preserve the exceptional character of the cru.
The reds are aged for 21 months with 50% new barrels.
