A perfect intermediary between the Bruja cuvée and the Grands Crus of Tumba del Rey and Rumbo al Norte, the Rozas 1er Cru is the estate's most refined and fragrant wine, reminiscent both of Emmanuel Reynaud's crus (Rayas) and even some of the Premiers Crus of Chambolle-Musigny, with a hint of sunshine thrown in for good measure. A real 'caress', with cherry, citrus and apricot stone aromas...

Viticulture

Sierra de Gredos region, Valle del Tiétar. Municipality of Rozas de Puerto Real. Vineyards of Matallana, Prado Nebrillo and Arroyo Mingo. Climate: humid Mediterranean. Soil: sandy granite and clay. Surface area: 3 hectares. Altitude: 900 metres. Age of vines: 50-60 years.

Oenology

Vinified in French oak vats with gentle maceration, no punching down or sudden extractions, 100% whole bunches. Native yeasts. Maceration time: approximately 60 days. Aged for 12 months in 500-litre French oak barrels.
