This is one of our finest recent discoveries in the Rhône Valley, and frankly, it's a Crozes like we'd never hoped to find again! Produced organically by a family whose history is characteristic of the region, it expresses the floral, perfumed side of the Syrah grape, not so common in the AOC. Easily digestible, sapid and long-lasting, this is a wine that will be at home in a wide range of dishes. A real delight!

Viticulture

This wine bears the same name as the road leading to Domaine Vendome. Terroirs: Les Coulaires (Larnage), Les Châssis Est (Mercurol), clay-limestone with pebbles and loess. Vines over 40 years old. Certified organic.

Oenology

Mechanical harvesting with sorting at reception. Gravity reception and vatting to minimise the need to crush the grapes. Total de-stemming and cold pre-fermentation. Fermentation in temperature-controlled raw concrete vats. Remontage and délestage. Vatting for 4 weeks. Aged in raw concrete vats for 10 months.

Suggestions for accompaniment

Terrine of rabbit in jelly - Stuffed cabbage - Guinea fowl with lime.

The adventure began several generations ago on a family tree farm in Larnage, in the Drôme. In the tradition of the region's agriculture, the Roudiers cultivate over 20 hectares of apricot and cherry trees, as well as fields of lavender and truffle fields, at the Ferme Vendôme. And now the descendants are proudly carrying on the family tradition by growing vines on some fifteen hectares. The vines are grown organically, and the wines are straightforward and delicious, with fine aromas and no excess of new wood. Here, drinkability dominates, and that's a good thing!
