The 2020 vintage is distinguished by its great finesse, balance and elegance, and is less powerful and intense than the 2019 vintage. It is a wine clearly destined for laying down, while still being accessible in its youth. The tannins are soft and silky, while the acidity is well controlled. It is beautifully fresh, with aromas of red fruit such as cherry and raspberry, accompanied by hints of spice, a reflection of the Mourvèdre. Clos des Papes is one of the great wines of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, offering a particularly elegant interpretation of the terroir. Renowned for its consistency from one vintage to the next, it is mainly the result of a blend dominated by Grenache.This wine comes from old vines, aged 50-80 years, which produce naturally low yields.
