Château Roc de Jean Lys, Bordeaux Supérieur - 2016

Carmine in colour with purple highlights, it offers an expressive and racy nose of graphite, red fruits and spices, completed by a floral touch characteristic of the great reds from limestone soils. It enters the mouth with a magnificent vivacity, revealing a tonic and fine structure, which unfolds at once pulpy, sapid and saline. It has never been so good and the (great) vintage is undoubtedly a factor. Don't miss it!

Viticulture

This selection comes from the plots of Château Roques de Jeanlice located in the heart of the limestone plateau of the entre deux mers (commune of Rauzan). Nature of the soil: clay and limestone. Average age of the vines: 25 years. Planting density: 3500 vines/ha. Machine harvesting.

Oenology

On arrival in the cellar: sorting table (6-8 people) then complete destemming. Fermentation in stainless steel vats. Extraction by fractional pumping-over plus delestage. Long vatting time of 30 days. Aged for 10 months with 40% in barrels.

Suggestions for accompaniment

Lamb skewers with cumin, aubergine gratin - Beef tartar - Saint-Nectaire.
