Located in the south-west of the Pauillac appellation, Château Haut-Batailley is now in the hands of the Cazes family (Château Lynch Bages, in Pauillac). It was bought in March 2017 from the Brest-Borie family. The future of Haut-Batailley looks very promising, with a dedicated management team, high-performance technical equipment (renovated in 2004), and still its beautiful terroir of deep gravel on 22 hectares planted with old vines, the majority of which are Cabernet Sauvignon (65%). Château Haut-Batailley also owns 19 hectares of land classified as AOC Pauillac, which has been resting for many years and will be planted in 2019.
Oenology
The wines are aged in barrels - 14 months - including 60% new wood.
