Viticulture
Ca'Marcanda takes its name from the Piedmontese dialect and refers to the long negotiations conducted by Angelo Gaja to convince the former owners to sell this estate, which was previously composed of olive trees, orchards, cattle and a small part of vineyards. This wine comes from a light soil (limestone and skeletal), ideal for producing long-keeping wines.
Oenology
The three grape varieties are vinified separately. They are blended after malolactic fermentation and aged for eighteen months in non-new oak barrels, followed by twelve months of bottle ageing before release. First vintage produced: 2000.
