Burlenberg, Marcel Deiss - 2017

  • Domain: Marcel Deiss
  • Grape variety(ies): Complantation de pinot noir et beurot
  • On-call time: 10 years

Great red wine with a ruby colour. The nose, of a rare fruity violence (black raspberry, blackcurrant, blackberry, nutmeg and smoke), rebounds on the spicy mouth with its "burnt" tannins so characteristic of Burlenberg. With its volcanic temperament, this wine will surprise you by its originality. Must be decanted 1 hour before serving, great ageing potential.

Viticulture

One of the most prestigious estates in Alsace, cultivated according to biodynamic principles. Burlenberg is a silicified oolitic limestone terroir with entroques (a terroir similar to that found in Côte de Nuits and more particularly in Clos de Bèze). It is a very hard limestone, not very fertile, limited for water and rich in limestone pebbles and granitic scree.

Suggestions for accompaniment

At ease with all large red meats and even game birds.
