Viticulture
This property has been in the family for several generations. It already belonged to Henri Greloud, the great-great-grandfather of Jacques Guinaudeau, who founded Lafleur in 1872. The estate covers 15 hectares on the second clay-limestone cordon of the Fronsadais region, essentially "red vines" which are partly adjacent to the plot that produces the Champs Libres white.
Oenology
Grand Village is in a way Lafleur's laboratory, its vineyard-school. In other words, Grand Cru viticulture is practised here. Twenty people in total work at Lafleur and Grand-Village, so the same team looks after both vineyards. Even the Lafleur barrels pass through Grand-Village. New, they are matured for 6 months at Grand-Village before continuing their life as a home for Lafleur wine.
