Technique
Viticulture
A magnificent vineyard located in the commune of Barolo. The exposure is mainly south, with some variations to the east and west. The vines are spread out between 380 and 470 metres in altitude. Years of Nebbiolo planting in the vineyard: 1949, 1968, 1995, 2000 and 2006-7. Densities between 4,200 and 5,000 vines/ha. Terroir of marl from Sainte Agathe with the presence of marine fossils. Guyot cultivation, natural grassing, green harvesting if necessary.
Oenology
Maceration of 30-40 days, control of TO, traditional vinification, fermentation with indigenous yeasts, natural malolactic fermentation during the first year, 42 months of ageing in Slovenian tuns of 25-50 hl. The resulting wine is undoubtedly one of the most elegant, complex and refined Barolos to be tasted to date, often with typical floral notes.
