Barbera del Monferrato Superiore, Giulin, Accornero (37.5 cl) - 2020

Giulin d'Ermanno Accornero is a bit like the meeting of a great Barbera wine in Monferrato and a great winemaker. And in recent vintages, the result is superb. The wine offers a magnificent nose of black fruits, liquorice, black pepper and a touch of violet. It has a unique naturalness of expression and crispness, which irresistibly calls for the table!

Viticulture

Municipality of Vignale Monferrato. Eastern exposure; 210 m above sea level. First year of production: 1995. Trellis training, winter pruning. Guyot, green harvest in summer, thinning of the grapes in the first week of August. Year of plantation: 1980; 1990; 2000. Yields of 55/60 hl per hectare.

Oenology

Traditional vinification with submerged cap and programmed pumping over; spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Cold stabilisation. Aged in stainless steel tanks and French oak demi-muids for 12 months.

Suggestions for accompaniment

Meat in sauce - Crosnes with duck confit - Leg of lamb on the spit.
